Suzanne Persson, born in 1958, grew up in a small town, Vänersborg. At an early age she began playing the piano, but soon she discovered the classical guitar. At the same time she also began studying the violin and recorder. 19 years old she left her home town for further education in music. First one year at Lunnevad´s Folkhögskola where she for the first time got acquainted with the lute.
After finishing a degree in guitar at SMI she continued her studies at the Aaron Copland School of Music in New York, USA, where she recieved a Master of Arts (in performance, lute) in 1986. After that she came to devote her time to the lute - to Renaissance and Baroque music.
Suzanne moved back to Sweden, and Stockholm,which became her starting-point for her musicianship. Later on she also studied conducting at SMI and interpretation of Baroque music at the College of Music, Malmö .
Suzanne often performs as continuo musician in several ensembles and orchestras, both in Sweden and abroad. For instance with Fiori Musicali (Germany) together with Erin Headley in Händel´s Theodora at the Händel festival in Göttingen 1999. Summer of 2001 she was engaged at the Vadstena Academy as repetiteur and lutenist in the opera Bassiano by Pallavicino.
She is also a member of many ensembles. Suzanne has toured all over Europe, from Faraoe Island to the Baltic countries, from North of Finland to Portugal and in South America.
Suzanne also performs as solo lutenist. She plays most of the historical plucked instruments; Renaissance- and Barocque lute, vihuela, theorbo, Baroque guitar and gallichon.

She has been heard on the radio and TV, both in Sweden and abroad. She can also be heard on several recordings, for instance with Tirami Su. In december 2006 a new CD with ensemble La Monica was released.
Since many years Suzanne teaches at the School of Performing Arts in Huddinge where she also is responsible for and produces the school´s website and yearly catalogue. She has also worked as a producer at the Swedish Radio.
Besides music, Suzanne has many hobbies - the making of historical costumes and design. 10 years old she sew her first clothes and now she makes historacal costumes not only for herself but for others too. See costumes. In 2004 Suzanne studied graphic design and now she designs for the web and for print. In her own company Accordo Music Productions Suzanne offers concerts both as a soloist and with ensembles and orchestras. Besides working as a freelance lutenist she makes historical costumes, design for the web and print. I 2007 she will produce her own CD - recording, mixing, cutting, design and marketing. "In 2008 one of Suzanne´s dreams came through: to put up a baroque opera! During the summer she wrote a libretto in swedish to the opera La Liberzione di Ruggiero d´al Isola d´Alcina - named Häxans Ö (The Witch´s Island). It was first performed at Confidencen in Stockholm. A new opera, or Baroque musical - Henry and the Magic Passakalja - was performed at Nybrokajen 11 in Stockholm. More than 1500 children saw the show! Read more news.
